Need an editor for your iPhone or Android photos?

There are many photo apps available for your iPhone or Android smartphones. Some are made for both. One is considered to be the best … Snapseed. It has an array of controls that you can use to edit your photos. Here’s a taste of what’s available.

Within this screen, there are even more controls.

And, it’s free! Nifty.

You never know…

My and My Grandpaw

My wife recently took this iPhone picture of me and I put it online with the caption, “Me and My Grandpaw.” It got a bunch of likes and two comments. Both pointed out the closeness of the color of my jacket and my buddy’s fur. When I saw the photo, her alert (and cute) face stood out.

You never know what folks see when they look at your photo. It may not be what you saw.

The best photos tell a story…the Lincoln Portrait

A relatively unknown Abraham Lincoln came to New York City to deliver a speech on February 26, 1860 at Cooper Union. Earlier that day, he went to the Brady Portrait Gallery to have his picture taken. According to Lincoln, his speech and that photo helped propel him into the presidency. Many newspapers reported on the speech and used that picture of Lincoln. Here’s the famous portrait…

Instagram is what YOU make of it.

Instagram is that site for folks to post lots of selfies and other silly pictures, right? WRONG.

Instagram is what YOU make of it. You can make it your exclusive place online…with pictures and TEXT. Yes, lots of text! You can literally write blog like posts on Instagram by creating a group of images and uploading them together. Seth Godin is a master of this. Here’s one of his examples.

The first image acts as the title to draw interest. The rest is all text to explain the idea.

Do we really need a blog, Twitter, and/or Facebook anymore? Is Instagram enough? I wonder.

Fastest, easiest, and cheapest way to preserve memories…

I don’t usually use expressions like fastest, easiest, and cheapest but today is an exception. When it comes to preserving family memories there is a way to do it that fits those three criteria. Create a Blogger site. Blogger is a site created by Google. It’s free. You can add pictures as well as text. You can add to it whenever you want. Although it’s supposed to be a blogging site, it’s actually whatever you want to make out of it.

Try Blogger to preserve your family memories. It’s easy, fast, and free.

Try it if you want to preserver family memories.

Old is old, not necessarily better…

Back when Mathew Brady was taking portraits of celebrities like Abraham Lincoln, they used very toxic chemicals and few precautions. Today, we can create pictures that look very similar in a click or two. Here’s a black and white selfie I took using my iPhone and the TinType App. No toxic chemicals needed and it only took a few seconds to create.

Sometimes, you accidentally are in the right place at the right time…

I’d love to take credit for the careful posing of these three Pugs. I can’t. They just decided to lean on each other. I was there at the right time and in the right place…ready to take a picture. Happy that I did. This photo was taken about 15 years ago. Although Camille, Teddy, and Ruby are gone…their memories live on in pictures.

From top…Teddy, Camille, and Ruby
